Brendale Vehicle Distribution Centre

This 4ha industrial development consists of a 3500m² building containing workshop, parts, dispatch and administration areas and associated car parking for over 1500 vehicles. The facility will be the main distribution point for vehicles undertaking pre-delivery parts and accessories fitting and will be capable of distributing up to 2000 vehicles per month. As the site is located within a flood prone area, significant civil works have been undertaken to ensure there is minimal impact on the day to day operations after significant rain events. The project includes on site water storage and treatment facilities making the project completely water self sufficient. Also due to the value of the stock held within the complex, an all encompassing security system has been installed which includes an electric fence running the perimeter of the site.

The original design process was managed as a traditional lump sum project, however when initial tenders were received significantly over the client’s budget, Buildplan were approached to undertake a cost rationalisation exercise to ensure that the project could be developed within the client’s budget. Due for completion in August 2010 Buildplan’s responsibilities have included design and construction as well as providing town planning assistance highlighting our capabilities of being able to provide the full range of development services to our clients.
