Dungog High School Upgrade
The works involved the construction of Block N (a new library and special education building) and Block A (a new administration building) as well as the refurbishment of some existing building including Blocks B and D (classrooms) and Block H (converting the old library building to a teachers area comprising 2 new staff study areas and a staff lounge, Block C (existing toilets) and an extension to Block J providing a new materials workshop. Part of the works also included the provision of a new 750 kva substation and main switchboard as well as the removal of the existing pole supply.
The majority of the building works were undertaken whilst the school was occupied and as such presented significant safety and environmental issues to understand and control including ensuring the general safety of the pupils and staff at the school, ensuring no unscheduled interruptions to the schools essential services as well as co-coordinating noisy works around exam timetables and the like.
It is also important to note that during the life of the project approximately 55,000 man hours were worked on site with no lost time incidents or accidents.
