Nazareth House

Nazareth House with an area approximately 6,000 m2 over two levels provides 130 beds for low care, high care and dementia residents in addition to the new accommodation for the priests and nuns. The building was designed to accommodate the elderly in an environment that is as close as possible to their own homes including facilities for kitchen and laundry services as well as extensive support services. The residents are also provided with a shopping mall and coffee shop.

To ensure the project remained within budget Buildplan engaged Northrop Holmes Structural & Civil Engineers, to provide an alternative to the tendered design structure. Following preliminary design and extensive cost benefit analysis all parties agreed the alternative design would provide significant time and cost savings to the project.

Nazareth House remains an example of a near perfect project being well designed and documented, with a project team that was focused on the project exceeding the client’s expectation, with a cooperative approach to problem solving and innovation.

The project was completed on time, within budget and without dispute. Buildplan complements the entire development team, but in particular, its own Project Management team on this achievement.
