Tamworth TAFE Sustainability Centre

The Sustainability Centre was a project for the Tamworth TAFE managed by the Department of Services, Technology and Administration. The works were the construction of a new single storey building containing teaching spaces, office, workshop, greenhouse and amenities having a gross floor area of approximately 650m² with associated site works and landscaping around the new building also being included.

The intent for the building was to provide an infrastructure for students to engage in a practical learning experience by using the building’s components constructed by Buildplan as a learning tool as well as being able to add to the structure in the future as part of their learning at the TAFE. Such future components will include additional rainwater harvesting systems, solar panel installation and maintenance, photovoltaic system monitoring systems and other sustainable infrastructure.
